Commuincation method: Primary communication method of this class is via e-mail. Therefore, I strongly urge everyone of you to obtain a UTA e-mail account and subscribe to the class e-mail distribution list (PHYS1443-002-FALL07@listserv.uta.edu) by sending e-mail to listserv@listserv.uta.edu without a subject but with the body text as follows:
subscribe phys1443-002-fall07 YourFirstName YourLastName
You can join this e-mail list from any account but I strongly suggest you to do this from the account you use most frequently.
Your UTA e-mail accounts: Your e-mail accounts are created at the time your Windows NT accounts are created. These are both done automatically on the very first day of class. You also must receive a UT e-ID since it is required for your homework and other accesses. If you have problems, send your questions in e-mail to helpdesk@uta.edu or in the central library.
The
lectures will be given in the form of mixture of computer presentations
and traditional methods, depending on the situation. It is
strongly
encouraged to ask questions and to engage in discussions concerning the
class material. While it is your own responsibility to attend
every
class, attendence will be randomly taken to be used for extra credit,
and
pop-quizzes will also be randomly given at the beginning of certain
selected
classes. Pop-quizzes will constitute to 10%
of the total credit as described in the evaluation
policy.
