Evaluation
procedure:

The scores of the two non-comprhensive term exams will be normalized to 100 points and the
better score of the two will be chosen for the final grading.
-
There will be many opportunities for exltra credit, including random attendance check and strong
participation in class activities.
These extra credit will constitute up to 10% of total.
- These adjusted scores
will be used in the computation of the final score using the following fomula:
FInal Score = ( Homework ) * 0.25
+ midterm comprehensive
exam * 0.20
+
final comprehensive exam
* 0.23
+ One better term exam*0.12
+

- Grading
will
then
be determined under the sliding
scale, using the final scores based on their distribution.

- Given the fully online nature of the course and the exams due to COVID-19 safety limitations and that the solutions for the exams are available on the same day of the exam NO make-up exam will be allowed.
- If you
miss any one of the comprehensive exams with
an unavoidable reason or my prior approval, the average score of the other three exams will be used as the score of the missed comprehensive exam.
- If you
miss any one of the term exams with an unavoidable reason or my prior approval, your
score for the exam is 0.
- If you
miss any of the exams without an unavoidable reason or my prior approval, your grade will be an automatic F.
