Welcome to the DOSAR
Home Page!
This is the home page of our Distributed Organization for Scientific
and Academic
Research in institutions in the Southern part of the U.S. and the South
American Institutional Analysis Centers (IAC's) of D0
and other future high energy experiments auch as ATLAS and CMS, as well as for educational use
of
grid computing technology. The primary Regional Analysis Center (RAC)
in this region is located at the University
of Texas at Arlington. The RAC
equipment went online on Oct. 31, 2003. The facility has been
producing D0 MC events at the rate of 250k - 400k events/week and then
reprocessing D0 experimental data.
The member institutions
in DOSAR also have also been producing D0 MC events using grid
technology since DOSARGrid was activated in April 2004.

We have bi-weekly meetings

- DOSAR had many workshops:
- University of Texas at Arlington in April, 2003. At this first workshop, we have agreed on a few action items.
- University of Oklahoma on Sept. 26 and 27, 2003, following the OSCER Symposium.
- Louisiana Tech University on Apr. 7 and 9, 2004. At this workshop, the D0SARGrid has been enabled for D0 MC production.
- Kansas State University on Sept. 16 and 17, 2004. At this workshop, we focused on enabling grid-based data analysis.
- The University of Mississippi on March 31 and April 1, 2005. At this workshop, we focused on the future of the organization beyond the D0 experiment and joining the the Open Science Grid (OSG) effort.
- The University of Sao Paulo, Sep 16-17, 2005. At this workshop, we focused on the LHC and the interoperability between OSG and LCG and other Grids.
- The University Texas at Arlington, March 30-31, 2006, where we concentrated on data production and physics analysis, particularly distributed production and analysis.
- University of Oklahoma on Sept. 21 and 22, 2006, which was dedicated to the continuation of the integration of DOSAR with the OSG.
- Iowa State University on April 5 and 6, 2007, which focused on Campus grids and State wide grid efforts.
- Louisiana
Tech University on Sept. 27 and 28, 2007, which was focused on
implementing Co-Linux based Campus Grid system.
- The University
of Mississippi on April 17 and 18, 2008, which focused on
Grid Operations and Innovations in Computing.
- Louisiana State
University on April 2 and 3, 2009, which focused on
regional Cyberinfrastructure development efforts.
- In June of 2005, DOSAR became a Virtual Organization (VO) in OSG.
- We created our own DOSAR VOMS Server (reqires valid Grid certificate in your browser). See here for more info on VOMS.
- We established the DOSAR mailing list (dosar@fnal.gov) for both communication among members as well as as a contact point for the DOSAR VO Support Center. Send email to Jae Yu or Horst Severini if you would like to join the list. The list archives can be browsed, both the current DOSAR list as well as the old D0-SAR list.
- We have started using the "Roundup" issue tracker to keep track of our technical issues. The server for the DOSAR issue tracker is located at the Langston University IAC.
- We are in the process of putting together a document server based on the Fermi Product DocDB.
