Discovery With ATLAS!

The Discovery With ATLAS! program is a two week summer school in conceptual particle physics for high school students plus a one week workshop for high school teachers. We will study nature at its most basic level: the interactions of the fundamental particles and fields that compose everything in the universe.

Note: There was typo in the Continuing Education Catalog that indicated the school is for "ages" 10-12, it should have read "grades" 10-12 (though exceptional 9th graders may be considered).

Summer School for High School Students

Cost: $20.00
When: Monday - Thursday, 9-11:00am, June 1-11, 1998.

Workshop for High School Teachers

Cost: FREE
When: Monday - Thursday, 9-11:00am, June 15-18 1998.
To register just fill out the Registration form and we'll contact you with more details.
Where: Room 200 Preston Hall, University of Texas at Arlington.
Who: Organized by Prof. Ransom Stephens.

The course is sponsored by the ATLAS experiment which is being built at the European Center for particle physics (CERN) near Geneva, Switzerland, and is funded by the US Department of Energy and National Science Foundation.
