QCD Radiation in Top Quark Pairs
Department of Physics
Kansas State University
We characterize additional jet activity in top quark
pair production at hadron
colliders. The goal is development of tools that can
correctly describe these
events in data, both as an aid to studying the top
quark, and to better
understand top as a background for new physics
searches. We show that while
top pair production is truly a multiscale problem,
making a leading-order
description difficult, such events will provide an
excellent arena for
studying generic features of QCD already at Run II
of the Tevatron.
