Distributed & Parallel Computing Cluster

The Distributed and Parallel Computing cluster (DPCC) has been funded by the
National Science Foundation (NSF) through a Major Research Instrumentation grant
along with matching funds from the University. The goal of the system is to
create a computing infrastructure to support a multitude of activities including
Streaming databases, Data Mining, Video streaming, Skin lesion database with
Image processing, processing of data for two Particle Physics Collider
experiments as well as being a tool in education and outreach. The principal
investigator for the grant is Dr. Sharma Charkravarthy and is joined by 9 other
CSE facluty, 2 members of the UTA Physics Department and a faculty member of UT
Southwest Medical Center at Dallas |
